ONE BIRD, TWO BIRD.......

ONE BIRD, TWO BIRD.......

RED BIRD

 BLUE BIRD

If it is not obvious what brands twitter account I am going to talk about today, then you should probably leave this blog page, and Saint Louis. You know what, maybe you better steer clear of the whole midwest just in case!

One brand that I felt had a great hold on what twitter was for and how to use it was the Saint Louis Cardinals. And yes, I mean the one and only real Saint Louis Cardinal twitter page, blue check and all!
The Saint Louis Cardinals offer a very well designed Twitter page and offers information such as live "tweeting" during the spring training games, info about players and current injuries, were they are headed next and what they are doing, and all within the 140 character limit boundaries. They use their page to "tweet" to the general public, the public "tweets" expressing their love of the team and asking questions and even some celebrities are "tweeting" to the cardinals. When I was just on Twitter, Ozzie Smith was "tweeting" to the Cardinals, commenting on how well they were doing in Jupiter right now! Check it out if you are a fan! If you are not, please refer to comment above!

  1. Well let me start this comment by saying I’m a Cardinal fan and I went to a game in 105 degree weather in August 2012. I used to work at the stadium for a while but I didn’t realize how up to date they have become over the years. I've never followed the Cardinals page on Twitter before but I will after this. I'm glad that you blogged about this because I am a huge fan. I didn't realize I could follow them to stay updated about what they're doing daily. I normally just watch the news and read about it online later.

    1. Yeah! I didn't realize it either. It was really cool to see. Not only do they give general updates for things that are happening, but the tweet live tweets as the games are going on (like an announcer would commentate during a game over the microphone). Uh Oh! Sounds like we just found one more thing to get distracted by in class!

  2. I did not know the Cardinals had a Twitter page, but then again, what organization doesn't! My grandmother loves the Cardinals! I am sure the diehard fans cannot wait until baseball returns. However, I like how the organization is using Twitter to keep people updated about the status of players and all the other latest news. The Cardinals also has a lot of followers and tweets about them. I am not really a baseball fan, but I can admit that I like the anticipation from the players and anxious fans like my grandmother, who wait for the season to start up again.

    1. Same here. My entire family is waiting for Cardinals baseball to start back up. Usually the Cardinals are plastered all over Saint Louis television, but in the off season we hardly hear anything. This Twitter page is a great way to keep up with them when they are not in Saint Louis! I wish we could all be in Jupiter, but unfortunately that is not the case!

  3. I am not a big sports fun, but I do love watching the Cardinals. I had no idea that they have a Twitter account. Do most sports teams have that? That is really neat that you can live tweet during spring training. This is such a great way to reach their fans. I thought that they would have more followers considering how popular they are.

    1. I think that most teams do have a twitter page, and depending on the sport and the season I think that they all offer similar information. I was confused about the number of followers as well.....I mean, this is Cardinal nation!!! But the more I think about it, I suppose twitter isn't really a platform for 30-70 year old males!!! Ha Ha! Not yet at least. So maybe the viewership will take a while longer to reach bigger numbers. Thank you for commenting!
